Crop PDF
Drag a crop box on a live preview to trim margins or focus on one region of every page.
Crop PDF online, free and private
Cropping a PDF trims away the parts of the page you don't need — oversized white margins around a scanned document, a header and footer you want gone, or everything except the one chart you actually care about. It's the fastest way to make a document read comfortably on a tablet or e-reader, and to tidy scans before sharing or printing them.
PDFToolz shows you a live preview of your document and lets you drag the exact crop area with your mouse, or apply a one-click margin preset. The crop is applied to every page and written into the file itself — and because everything runs in your browser, the document is never uploaded to a server.
How to crop pdf in your browser
- 1
Add your PDF
Click ‘Select PDF file’ or drop the document onto the page. The first page is rendered as a preview so you can see exactly what you're trimming.
- 2
Choose the crop area
Drag a rectangle over the region you want to keep — everything outside it is dimmed. In a hurry? Use the ‘Trim 5% margins’ or ‘Trim 10% margins’ presets, and hit Reset any time to start over.
- 3
Crop and download
Press ‘Crop PDF’. The selected area is applied to every page by rewriting each page's crop box, and the trimmed PDF downloads in seconds.
Why use PDFToolz for this
Visual crop box, not blind numbers
Instead of guessing margin values in millimetres, you drag the crop area on a rendered preview of your actual document, so what you select is exactly what you get.
Content is preserved, not re-rendered
Cropping only changes each page's visible region. Text stays selectable, fonts stay sharp, and images keep their original resolution — nothing is rasterized.
Your files stay private
The whole crop happens in client-side JavaScript. Your document is never transmitted, so there is no server copy of your contracts, statements, or scans to worry about.
Free with no limits
Crop as many documents as you like — no account, no watermark, no page cap. Everything runs on your device, so there are no server costs to charge for.
