How to write a resume that gets interviews
Five steps, the same ones the resume coach checks for as you type.

Pick a template for your field
Conservative industries such as law, finance and government favour a classic single column like Meridian. Design, product and tech roles can carry more personality: Horizon, Aurora, Swiss or Terminal. Senior leaders often prefer Executive. Every template is ATS-readable, so choose on looks.

Open with a two-line summary
Say who you are, your strongest skill and what you want next, in 30 to 80 words. Write in implied first person: “Backend engineer who…”, never “I am a…”.

Write achievements, not duties
Each bullet follows one pattern: action verb, what you did, measurable result. “Cut checkout errors 38% by rebuilding address validation” beats “Responsible for checkout”. The coach flags bullets that miss a number.

Tailor skills to the job post
Mirror the exact wording of the posting for tools and skills you genuinely have; many ATS filters match keywords literally. Duplicate your resume per application so each version stays focused.

Yes, as many as you like. Use Duplicate in the resume menu, rename the copy after the role and tailor it. Switch between versions from the same menu.
Use US Letter for jobs in the United States and Canada and A4 nearly everywhere else. You can switch paper size in the Design panel at any time; the layout adapts.
In the US, UK and Canada, leave it off unless the employer asks, since photos can introduce bias and some companies discard resumes with them. In much of Europe, the Middle East and Asia a professional photo is common. Every template works with or without one.
You can import a JSON Resume file (the open format used by jsonresume.org and many developer tools) or a PDFToolz backup. To start from an existing PDF or Word file, open it beside the studio and paste section by section.
