Rotate a PDF that opens upside down or sideways, and save the fix into the file. Common cases are a scan fed into the feeder the wrong way, a photographed receipt, or a landscape table inside a portrait document. Turn one page or all of them, left or right.

How to rotate PDF pages

Add your PDF
Press Select PDF files or drop the document onto the page. Every page shows as a thumbnail, so you can see which ones need turning.

Rotate the pages you need
Tap the pages that need turning, or pick All, Odd or Even, then press ⟲ to turn them left, ⟳ to turn them right or 180° in the bar below the pages. The ⟲ and ⟳ buttons on a page turn just that page, and the Turn all buttons turn every page.

Save and download
Press Apply rotation. It stays greyed out until at least one page is turned. The result says how many pages were rotated. Press Download PDF. The file name ends in -rotated.

How to fix a PDF that is upside down
The thumbnail turns as you press, so you see the result before you save. Use this guide:
- Page is upside down: select it and press 180°, or tap ⟳ twice.
- Page lies on its left side, with the top of the text pointing left: tap ⟳ once.
- Page lies on its right side, with the top of the text pointing right: tap ⟲ once.
- Every page has the same problem: use the Turn all buttons, or press All and turn the selection.
PDF landscape to portrait, or vertical to horizontal
Rotating a page by 90° swaps its orientation. A sideways landscape page becomes an upright portrait page, and a portrait page becomes landscape. If the content lies on its side, rotation is the right fix, because the whole page turns with the content on it.
Rotation does not reflow or rescale the content. A wide spreadsheet on a landscape page is still wide after rotating. It just turns. If you need every page on the same paper size, such as A4 portrait for printing, use Resize PDF Pages, which scales the content onto the new size.
A tilted scan needs Deskew
Rotate PDF turns pages in 90° steps only. If a scan is a few degrees crooked because the paper went in at an angle, use Deskew Scanned PDF. It detects the tilt on each page, or lets you set an angle between -15° and 15°. Deskew turns pages into images. Rotate does not.
If a page already has a rotation setting, your turn is added to it. The thumbnails show each page the way your PDF reader shows it, so turn pages based on what you see.
