Built on our own PDF engine: it reads each page's content stream, finds the glyphs under your edit and rewrites them, then saves comments as standard annotations.
Edit the text that's already there
Click a paragraph and type. The font, size and colour are detected, and the old words are removed from the page, not hidden under a white box.
Comment like a desktop app
Highlight, underline and strike out text, pin sticky notes, draw and add shapes. They are saved as real PDF comments that Acrobat and Foxit can open.
Fill and sign
Type into form fields, tick boxes on flat forms and sign by drawing, typing or uploading a photo. Signatures are remembered only in your browser.

Yes. There is no trial, no watermark, no page limit and no account. Every feature on this page is free.
Yes. Choose Edit text and click any paragraph. The editor detects the font family, size, weight and colour. When you download, the original glyphs are removed from the page content, so the old wording is gone rather than covered. Text inside scanned images can't be edited this way; run OCR PDF first.
No. The editor runs in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your PDF, your edits and your signatures never leave your device. Autosave uses your browser's own storage.
Yes. Highlights, underlines, strikeouts, notes, drawings, shapes and links are saved as standard PDF annotations with their own appearance, so Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, Preview and browsers show them and let you edit them. Choose Flatten comments when downloading to make them permanent.
Redacted pages are rendered to an image at 200 DPI with the boxes burned in and put back in place of the original page. The text and images under the boxes are deleted from the file.
It works in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, iPad and Android. Once the page has loaded, editing doesn't need the network.
