Every PDF carries hidden information you never see on the page: a title, the author's name, creation and modification dates, and the exact software that produced the file. That metadata travels with the document when you email it, publish it or submit it — and it can reveal a real name, an employer, or a timeline you did not intend to share. This tool shows you exactly what is stored inside your PDF and lets you either edit the fields or scrub them all in one click.
Because privacy is the whole point, everything happens inside your browser. The PDF is opened locally, the document information dictionary and the XMP metadata stream are rewritten on your device, and the clean file is handed straight back. Nothing is uploaded, logged or cached on any server.
How to pdf metadata in your browser

Add your PDF
Click ‘Select PDF file’ or drop it onto the page. The tool reads the file locally and loads its current metadata into the panel.

Choose remove or edit
Pick ‘Remove all metadata’ to scrub every field — title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates and the XMP stream — or ‘Edit metadata’ to see the current values and change them individually.

Review the fields
In edit mode, each field shows what is currently stored in the document, so you can correct a title, claim authorship or blank out just the parts you don't want to share.

Apply and download
Press the button and the metadata is rewritten in your browser. Download the cleaned or updated PDF — your original file is never modified.
